PRODUCERS
CIRCLE EVENT
BRINGS WESTON PLAYHOUSE COMMUNITY TOGETHER
|
Winter may still be a month away, but the non-profit
Weston Playhouse Theatre Company began gearing up for
the summer with its annual Producers Circle event on
Saturday, November 24. Over 50 friends and community
members came together at the charming Linville Barn
in Weston to be among the first to preview the 2008
season and to consider the benefits of joining the WPTC
Producers Circle.
After a welcome from Board Chair Wayne Granquist, Producing
Director Steve Stettler presented the 2008 season complete
with music, interactive scene readings and background
information on each production. Producers Circle members
Charlie Cox, Tony Wood and Bob Brindley enthusiastically
described the joys and rewards of sponsorship and Weston’s
own Sam Lloyd performed a selection from one of the
plays. Excitement was clearly in the air as guests continued
to chat about the season after the presentation had
concluded.
The Producers Circle was created as a way for theatergoers
to play a closer role in a WPTC season while supporting
the production or productions of their choice. Producers
Circle members enjoy a rare peek behind the curtain,
witnessing the first read-through, enjoying backstage
tours and technical rehearsals, and attending an exclusive
“Meet the Artists” dinner. “As they
get to know our company at work and play,” commented
Producing Director Stettler, “Producers Circle
Members feel a new, more personal pride in their sponsored
production.”
