Weston
Playhouse Kicks Off 72nd Season with Spring Gala and
First-ever Online Auction
(Weston, VT) --- Friends,
food and fun are all in the plans for the 2008 Weston
Playhouse Theatre Company Spring Gala benefit dinner
to be held on Sunday, May 25, 2008 beginning at 6pm
at the Stratton Mountain Club. The event will kick-off
the 72nd season of the WPTC with a French-country themed
dinner, delectable entertainment, and silent, live –
and new this year – online auctions. All proceeds
from the event will support the work of the non-profit
Weston Playhouse Theatre Company.
Gala guests will be treated to entertainment by the
Broadway-bound cast of the Obie-winning musical [title
of show]. Creators and performers Hunter Bell and
Jeff Bowen along with Susan Blackwell and Heidi Blickenstaff
will take guests with them on a comical journey through
the process of “making it” to Broadway.
Director Michael Berresse and Musical Director Larry
Pressgrove will join the cast for this special evening.
Adding to the excitement, for the first time this year
the WPTC will unveil an online auction beginning on
May 1. “We are so excited to start the festivities
early this year by moving a portion of our auction online”
said Gala Committee member Barbara Raymond who has been
assisting with the online site, “it means that
anyone with a computer – from anywhere in the
world - can join the fun and support the Theatre Company
at the same time.” In addition to the online auction,
the 2008 Gala will once again feature a live auction
led by professional auctioneer Eric Nathan and an intimate
silent auction. To start bidding and to take a sneak
peek at all the auction offerings, visit www.westonplayhouse.cmarket.com
starting on May 1.
