Words are not Enough...
For eight decades, in the heart of Vermont’s Green Mountains, the Weston Playhouse Theatre Company has done the improbable – created and sustained an acclaimed professional theatre in a village of 500 people.
Now, strengthened by our deep roots in Vermont and in the American theatre landscape, the Company is taking the most important step in our history: to create a nationally recognized Incubator for the Theatre Arts; a place where playwrights, directors, composers, and librettists will come to work on their new works in the quiet rural environment away from the distractions of the city.
To learn more about becoming involved in building the new theatre, and our fundraising efforts, visit Campaign for the Weston Theatre.
As of August 7, Construction is Officially Underway!
When construction is completed, the new Center for the Arts will feature an open light-filled lobby, generous public amenities, a flexible contemporary studio theatre that is fully reconfigurable to accommodate an audience of up to 150 people, production office, dressing rooms, green room, wardrobe, laundry and other back-of-house support spaces. The new building is planned to encourage development of future courtyards and garden spaces between the new building and the historic barns, silos and farmhouse. Site improvements support both the new Center for the Arts building and the existing Walker Farm buildings.
