Wow, was I surprised and delighted at the Weston Playhouse’s production of Fully Committed! I was a bit apprehensive about a one-man show but Sam Lloyd, Jr. knocked my socks off with his jaw-dropping performance. How one actor did that is still beyond my comprehension. It’s 80 minutes of hilarious intensity packed into one act and you can be home in bed by ten but you won’t fall asleep for thinking about it.

Sam Lloyd once again delivers the goods with his performance of Fully Committed. I am so glad he came back to Weston for this season as he is one of my favorite performers and never leaves you disappointed. Quite the contrary… I was still laughing when I left the theatre. I am in awe at how he can keep an entire theater entranced with the characters and keeping them all present. This is definately a MUST SEE performance. Thank you WPTC for a wonderful start to this amazing Theatrical Season.
You go Sammy! Absolutely awesome.
If you’ve never seen the show, get tickets right away. If you’ve seen the show, get tickets right away. This is THE production. Bravo to Sam, Steve, and everybody involved. Thanks for the feast!
Absolutely delicious.
Wow! A vey impressive WPTC performance by Sam Lloyd, Jr. Be prepared to howl and snicker in your seat as Sam portrays about a dozen various characters (underscore characters) all part of a day in the life of a prestigious restaurant in New York City. Anyone who has ever worked in the hospitality business will surely appreciate the zaniness of the characters and their demands, but the way Sam carries from one to the next is the true art here. His expressions and comedic timing are brilliant. He has the audience captivated from the very first line. Truly a feel-good MUST SEE.
Yes! I have spread the word about this terrific show! Sam is brilliant and hilarious. I knew he would be after “Shakespeare” and “Irma Vep.” It is amazing how his voice and manner change from one character to the next. His facial expressions are wonderful, and we feel as if we know all the callers well, and the chef and Jean-Pierre. Three cheers for the director, too, and for the set design — just perfect for the back room of a busy restaurant. I am so glad Sam keeps coming back to Weston. Let’s hope it continues for more seasons.
As I said to Steve Stettler Friday night after Sammy’s performance…ABSOLUTELY TERRIFIC!!!
I didn’t see how Sammy could do a better job than he did at the Bryant House all those years ago. Boy was I wrong. And I loved the set…a perfect display of how yucky and grimy and disgusting a place it was that poor Sam had to bear day after day after day. As Steve said in his Director’s Talk before the show, it was Upstairs/Downstairs taken to the ultimate.
We wish you all the best for a successful 2009 season.

What a absolutely incredible performance! It’s so wonderful to see Sam keep returning to Weston. I didn’t think I’d ever see him do anything as funny as “Irma Vep” but boy, was I wrong! My 64 year old mother loved it as did my 13 year old daughter and her friend who went with us. We laughed and talked about it ALL the way home on the hour long drive back up Route 100 to Rochester!
I just saw “Fully Committed” for the second time last night. Once again, Sam was amazing. Weston Playhouse had been a place I forgot about years ago, until now. The production, along with the staff, actors, and even the ushers were friendly. I will spread the word about Weston as thick as possible; in hopes that more people will be amazed at this historical jewel, we call Weston Playhouse. Oh yeah…And check out the cabaret afterwards. The pianist is so good; he must have an amazingly handsome, smart, and funny older brother.
