The Vermont Country Store has had a deep and lasting commitment to the community since it was founded by Vrest and Mildred Orton in 1946. Now in its third generation of family ownership, The Vermont Country Store and the Orton family have created a partnership with the Weston Playhouse Theatre Company has lasted for decades, weathering change and growth.
The Ortons and The Vermont Country Store are proud to sponsor fall productions that offer special matinee performances to hundreds of local students, so they can experience the magic of live theatre first hand from one of the best summer theaters in the country. Together, The Vermont Country Store and the Weston Playhouse Theatre Company demonstrate the old fashioned values of neighbor helping neighbor that make Weston a special place for both organizations to call home.
