Casting

2011 audition information.

Note upcoming Youth Auditions for the role of Charlie in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Francois in Saint-Ex. Details below.

Audition announcements will also be made on Twitter and facebook.

The Weston Playhouse operates under an AEA LORT D contract (MainStage) and AEA LORT Experimental Theatre contract (OtherStages) and hires for a seven-show summer season. Rehearsals begin in early June and our season concludes in mid-September (a core cast and crew returns for an early October tour). We maintain a company from season to season, as possible, with limited openings for select Equity roles and for our 7-person non-Equity Young Company.

We work with Alan Filderman Casting in New York City. They will send out a breakdown for agent submissions for any unfilled roles in April. Because of staffing limitations, we regret that we are no longer able to accept or acknowledge headshots and resumes by mail or email.

The WPTC is an equal opportunity employer and strongly encourages auditions by actors of color, seniors, women, performers with disabilities and other minorities. Young Company Auditions are held at select BFA Musical Theatre programs and are not currently open to other candidates.

A Season Breakdown will be posted in Backstage and at Actors’ Equity at least 2 weeks in advance of auditions. Local auditions for non-professionals including children will be listed as needed on our Website and in the local press.
