The Celebration Continues…
On August 7 at 1 pm, we broke ground on the exciting new Center for the Arts at Walker Farm. After remarks from Weston Board Members, Company Directors, Representative Olsen, members of the Walker family, and honoree Christopher Lloyd, the first shovels were sunk! You can take a virtual tour here to see what the facility will look like when complete in the fall of 2017, and hear Artistic Director Steve Stettler’s speech from the event.
Then, the festivities continued with our first annual WESTON HONORS benefit event. We gathered together at the Southern Vermont Arts Center in Manchester to celebrate the life and career of actor Christopher Lloyd with special guests Judd Hirsch, Dana Ivey, and Samuel Lloyd Jr. A private dinner at Taconic with Chris and friends followed. It was a fabulous first event in the series, and you can take a peek at photos here.
Earlier in the season…
Along with our friends at The Vermont Country Store, we couldn’t have asked for a better day to celebrate our milestones and wonderful community of Weston. We paraded and performed, heard speeches, and played games! We enjoyed cake and ice cream from King Arthur Flour and Wilcox Dairy, and sampled delicious foods from local chefs. Our fabulous summer staff hosted face painting, crown making, and a scavenger hunt. It was a day we’ll never forget! When night finally did fall, our alumni actors had us laughing, crying, and reminiscing as they performed a remarkable concert celebrating eighty years of theatre and community.
