A Community Christmas Carol

About Town |November 27, 2015

Scheduled for this December 5th, “Christmas in Weston” is a day-long celebration of family fun that ushers in the Holiday Season for the Mountain Communities, and their residents and visitors alike. Named a “Top Ten Winter Event” by the Vermont Chamber of Commerce three years in a row, festivities include caroling on the green, horse-drawn wagon rides, a tree lighting ceremony, and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Vermont Country Store. If you come to join the fun, don’t miss the community reading of Charles Dickens’ classic A Christmas Carol, led by members of the Weston Playhouse Theatre
Company at the Old Parish Church at 2 PM!

This year, Weston actors David Bonanno, Piper Goodeve, Susan Haefner, Munson Hicks, and Dorothy Stanley join Old Parish Church pastor Jon Bliss in leading a one-hour reading of the classic tale of Scrooge and Tiny Tim. Dozens of roles are read by community volunteers bringing neighbors and newcomers together to celebrate a much-loved local tradition.

More practice!

A group of all ages gathered for a past reading, including a couple of Santa’s elves in the balcony!

The full day’s schedule is available here! We hope you’ll join us to ring in the holiday season.
