IMG_1502Christmas in Weston is traditional small town Vermont holiday celebration. It was chosen as a “Top Ten Winter Event” by the Vermont Chamber of Commerce for three years in a row, from 2012-2014. The town of Weston comes together to make it all happen with various businesses, organizations, and people putting together a variety of actives, lots of food, and fun events.

DSC00305The reason for this event isn’t just to have fun, though there will be an abundance of that. In the true spirit of the holidays, Christmas in Weston benefits a great cause every year. This year all the proceeds go to the Weston Volunteer Fire Department, a great organization that supports Weston and the surrounding communities.

CastingDon’t miss Weston Playhouse favorites, like Munson Hicks, who will be Scrooge in the company’s reading of A Christmas Carol at the Old Parish Church at 2:00 p.m. There will also be musicians, a horse drawn sleigh, and a magician around town to entertain the young and young at heart. There will be chili, cookies, and hot dogs and hamburgers prepared by the Fire Department. Of course it wouldn’t be a Christmas celebration without an appearance from the man himself, Santa Claus, who will be arriving by fire truck. The whole thing will be topped off by a tree lighting in the Village Green. What could be more picture perfect than that?
