Weston was well represented at this year’s Lucille Lortel Awards for outstanding achievement Off-Broadway. From back home in Vermont, we send a slightly tardy but totally heart CONGRATS to all of the nominees and winners. The Lortel Awards celebrated their 31st year on Sunday, May 1 at NYU’s Skirball Center, in support of The Actors Fund. The Details: Two company members went home with awards – scenic designer Tim Mackabee (Weston’s Rent and Next To Normal) and sound designers Rob Milburn and Michael Bodeen (Weston’s To Kill A Mockingbird and Vanya and Sonya and Masha and Spike) all won for their work on Guards at the Taj.
Other Weston artists nominated include Greg Hildreth (Weston’s The Aliens) for Outstanding Featured Actor in a Musical for The Robber Bridegroom; Jeanine Serralles (Weston’s Uncle Vanya) as Outstanding Featured Actress in A Play for Gloria; Lauren Klein (Weston’s Morning’s At Seven) also nominated as Outstanding Featured Actress in a Play for her role in The Humans; Costume Designer Martha Hally (many Weston productions) for her costume design of Women Without Men; and Lauren Worsham (Weston’s A Light in the Piazza) for co-writing the book of The Wildness: Sky-Pony’s Rock Fairy Tale which was nominated for Best Musical.
