Director of Development
The Director of Development is a key member of Weston Playhouse Theatre's senior staff and works in a close relationship with the WPTC Board’s Development Committee to raise contributed revenue of $1 million annually (in 2019). The Director of Development will be responsible for articulating, planning, and overseeing the implementation of a comprehensive development plan for all sources of contributed revenue, from the Board of Directors, individuals, and institutions including foundation, corporate, and government funding. The Director of Development will have oversight of a grantwriting consultancy. Responsibilities include major donor prospect identification, research, solicitation, and stewardship; design, oversight, and implementation of the annual summer gala; managing a series of 5-10 cultivation and donor related events throughout the calendar year; and oversight of institutional giving, foundation grants, and government grants. The Weston Fellow is an integral junior member of the Weston Playhouse administrative staff. This position is perfect for early-career theatre makers interested in learning the ins-and-outs of programming, managing, and funding a professional theatre company. The program is designed to allow the Fellow to explore areas of their interest while completing key administrative tasks that help the company function on a day to day level. The Weston Fellow also supports off-season programming, including events and workshops in our new studio theatre, Weston Playhouse at Walker Farm. Ideal candidates have a degree in theatre arts/related area of study or have comparable professional experience and are driven, independent, curious, and adaptable team players. The Weston Playhouse Theatre Company is looking for part time House Managers to support the Box Office staff. Duties include overseeing front of house operations including the opening and closing of buildings, managing volunteer ushers, overseeing concessions and ensuring the timely seating and safety of all patrons before, during, and after the performance. House Managers will be trained and certified in First Aid and CPR if needed.
