Celebrating a Decade of Nurturing the New
Weston’s nationally respected New Works Programs reflect a commitment to the responsible development of new plays and musicals in our unique and supportive rural setting. Programs include an annual Weston-Ghostlight New Musical Award, Artists Retreat, workshops and full productions, regional and world premieres. Last year, the company opened Weston Playhouse at Walker Farm, a stunning Center for the Arts designed for production and play development.
Weston New Works Programs have been supported in part by the Ewen Fort Stettler Fund for the American Theatre; 321 Theatrical Management; the Anton Family Foundation; the Araca Group; Dramatists Play Service, Inc.; Dramatic Publishing; Samuel French, Inc.; the Frederick Loewe Foundation; Stacey Mindich Productions LLC; Music Theatre International; the National Alliance for Musical Theatre/Fund for New Musicals; the National Endowment for the Arts; the Rodgers and Hammerstein Foundation; the Shen Family Foundation; the Shubert Foundation; Tams-Witmark Music Library; Theatrical Rights Worldwide; and many generous individuals.
The Weston Playhouse Theatre owns and is developing the 5-acre Walker farmstead at the northern edge of the village of Weston into a year-round campus for play development, opening its new flexible Second Stage, Weston Playhouse at Walker Farm, in September 2017.
We regret that limited resources do not allow us to consider unsolicited manuscripts at this time.
